Addiction Medicine
Spine Team Pain Center is now an authorized suboxone clinic. Our goal is to help with prevention, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, relapse, and recovery of patients with addiction. Our providers are trained & certified to treat addiction with suboxone & buprenorphine which treats pain as well as addiction to pain medications.
Prevention
Our providers work to educate and provide resources to help prevent, diagnose, and treat addiction. We encourage our patients to take preventative actions every day to change their lives and create healthier futures for themselves and our communities.
Diagnosis
Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) is a problematic pattern of opioid use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress. About 2.1 million Americans were diagnosed with OUD in 2016. Diagnosing OUD requires a thorough evaluation.
Evaluation
On the first visit, our medical specialist will review the patient’s medical and addiction history. Together the patient and provider will create a treatment plan. Medication is often prescribed on the first visit for new addiction patients.
Treatment
Treatment may include medications, detox, behavioral counseling & long term follow up to prevent relapse. Treatment is not simple, but it will help the patient stay drug free and be productive in the community.
Relapse
Relapse does not equal failure! Relapse is a normal part of addiction recovery. The best way to prevent relapse is to have regular follow-ups with our providers where we will help with proactive coping behaviors, a good support system, and risk factor avoidance.
Recovery
Addiction is a disease that cannot be over-come in weeks or months. With the use of a strong support team by your side, you will see success. Patients will be given resources to help continue their success in addiction recovery.
